  • What are the oldest devises still being used in your home?

We have a gas cooker from 1960 still working, had to be converted to natural gas once, and the gas poker was sealed up.

Still have one Pye black and white portable television, use it in the computer room, since cheap colour tv went wrong, bought in earty 1980's in was in regular use in the main room, until Radio Times pictures persuaded me to go with colour.

  • Has anything ever made time appear to be slower for you?

    If so why?

The time is going much slower for me today, because previously I had a friend who I devoted a lot of my time for, meaning I had less time for me, now I don't have that friend I have all this lovely extra time for me.

  • How much do you love yourself?

I have read several similar questions, including the links below.

I believe we need to love ourselves, in order to truely love anyone else.

Christians are told to love others as much as they love themselves, but do they love themselves enough?

Be as emotive as you like, in telling me how much you love yourself.

These are similar questions previously asked.

  • Would you trust Virgin Medias claims that you can watch on-demand programmes whenever you want?

We have been a customers of cable since NTL moved into this area, since they changed its name to virgin media, on-demand doesn't work 80% of the time.

I missed Robin Hood today, can't watch it because on demand isn't working, and because Norton Internetr security won't let me download it and use BBC's iplayer.

  • Why did we only get one DVD with the Radio Times for from 5 January 2008?

We only got one DVD of Classic Comedy Moments with the radio Times, but it states:

'A classic BBC comedy disc for every reader.

Three people read our copies of the Radio Times.

And there terms say only one per household, if we had to request one if it wasn't in the magazine.

Is only one person allowed to read each copy of the Radio Times?

  • UK: Did any pensioners get this weeks pension last week?

I normally collect a pension for a pensioner on Mondays, she believed it would be paid into her account last Friday, but it hadn't been paid in then. The post office lady asked when it was usually paid, I replied Monday, she told me it would be available Monday "$th December. But no post office in this area was open.

It is not a problem, just wondering if any pensioners got paid for this week, last week.

  • What is this poem about?

    The Beast.

White flakey power drifts in the wind

O'er the burnt remains of the Beast.

    Unseen, unknown, dead!

    It could have lived forever

If it never knew its lies,

    If it wasn't always right,

    When it was wrong.

It grew to rule the lands,

    The seas, and the skys,

    But it couldn't rule itself for very long;

While half of it was starving,

    The other half was obese,

To feed it's fatter half, it bleed itself to death,

    Building mushrooms in the sky,

    It starved itself of breath.

  • Any one else got a calculator which you shake to power up?

We got ours from Look again, much better than solar powered ones with low energy lights.

But I've never seen them anywhere since.

  • Was this a dream or a genuine news item?

A couple of mornings ago I either dreamt that it was discovered that drinking plenty of water had no benefits, or it was a genuine radio news item.

The radio switches on BBC radio 4 at 7am, during the 'Today' news programme.

I am not sure whether I dreamt I heard it on the news, or whether it really was on the news.

Was it a dream, or a genuine news item?

  • Is it possible to be boring when you are by yourself?

No I am not asking if you can be bored by yourself, but can you be boring by yourself?

In answer to a question about being boring, many people have talked about doing things by themselves as if that is boring, but they are talking about things like reading a book, and having time by themselves doing what they want to do, that is not my idea of boring.

  • What makes you click onto a question?

For me, apart from the subject being of interest to me, I like to see the question in full before I click onto the question.

I realize this is not always possible, but an idea of the question before I click on is most likely to get me to click, and possibly answer.
