What are the oldest devises still being used in your home?

We have a gas cooker from 1960 still working, had to be converted to natural gas once, and the gas poker was sealed up.

Still have one Pye black and white portable television, use it in the computer room, since cheap colour tv went wrong, bought in earty 1980's in was in regular use in the main room, until Radio Times pictures persuaded me to go with colour.

    A teasmade - wedding present in 1959

Morphy Richards (yellow) toaster - wedding present 1959

Electric iron (used only occasionally for sealing plastic bags!) a Morphy Richards "Atlantic" - wedding present 1959.

There are probably older things still - can't think at the moment, which had belonged to my Mother .

We still use the empty pipe tobacco tins, for storing screws, nails, etc, which had been my father's. He died 1982.

I have the tea service which my father (who was in the Navy) brought back to England from Japan in the 1930's. Lots of vases which had been my grandmother's (I'm nearly 70!)

If you get him a cage or one of those pet taxi carriers and keep him in there while he's inside the house he'll learn. That is what we have been doing with our dog, I tried doing the 30 even 15 min thing and it didn't work. We actually adopted her from our apartment parking lot (we put out signs that we had found a dog and no one called), we were actually moving a week later so when we got to the house we got her a little cage and she'll tell us (whine and moan ) in the morning she needs to go. Also now that we have a yard we got her a leash that is attached to a stake and she'll stay out there for a while to do her business no need of walking. We have had her now for a month and she's had a few accidents inside the house but mostly our fault. We don't keep her in the cage all day though, only when I know I'm not going to be around her and at night. Also I know she was potty trained b/c when we took her for walks at the apartments she'd go. I just think that maybe your dog like ours is having stress over moving. He'll get over it when he gets used to you and his new home. :)

My food mixer is twenty four years old but I had a set of saucepans that were given to my parents for a wedding present 50 years ago and then passed on to me, I only got rid of them because I had a new kitchen and wanted some posh pans to match. Imagine how many meals were cooked on those pans they never had food stick to them and even if they got burnt accidently they came up like new with a brillo pad. wanted to keep them for sentimental reasons but how much stuff can you hang on to

we have a crock pot that i was told was one of the first models made. not sure when that was, but it sure looks like it. i still use it, and get funky comments and compliments on it. it was passed down to us through garage sale junk, so im not too sure. Oh, and we still use this wisk thing, that has a handle on it you spin and it cranks the whisks. An old beater, without the electric. we use it all the time. not too sure how old it is , but more of the garage sale junk passed on.

I have a television from like 1963 that my mother's friend picked up at a garage sale. I am still amazed at how awesome it has been "through the years".
