It's all true. I've used TV Choice on Demand, my uncle has used Catch up. I've listened to the music as well. Never watched the special interest stuff or the films though but they are there.
The problem is that TV Choice on Demand doesn't have a lot of stuff. They only do stuff in groups, like the first half of one season. Then when time passes that half is removed and the second half added. You could watch the first half of a series, and have to wait ages for them to add the second. Sometimes they'll have less, like 5 to 10 episodes so you need to wait. They've never had a complete season of a show at any single time that I can remember

Well we have virgin media and think it is quite rubbish we have had quite a few problems with them taking money out of the bank when they shouldn't and they have had to refund quite a bit of money back.
