Here's another one from Goop's (for your amusement .)?

" Ned Of The Bridge "

The mist started lifting,

The air getting warm,

Clouds of little midges,

Were starting to swarm.

He stood on the bridge,

Watching the stream,

The sunrise behind him,

Was starting to beam.

I saw the old man,

Most every week,

I always waved,

He never did speak.

Then after the winter,

He failed to show,

I asked the bailiff,

I thought he would know.

He gave me a look ,

Said "You must mean Ned"

"I'm sorry mate",

"He's long since been dead".

"He died on the bridge",

"Where you saw him stand",

"Not a bad way to go",

"With your rod in your hand".

I like it because it amuses me and it rhymes and more or less, scans.

So-called poetry that does not have these attributes is just manipulated prose, I feel.

It is possible to take almost any piece of prose, split it into lines - and call it poetry. Of course, it is no such thing.
