Replacing the wing mounted radio antenna on a 1999 Accent.?

1999 Hyundai Accent. The wing mounted radio antenna has been broken off.

I have a replacement antenna but I don't know how to gain access to the old one to replace it. Haynes do not publish a UK manual for this model.

Do I have to remove the plastic wheel well covers to gain access to the antenna or is there some other route?

I am finding it difficult to remove this plastic cover. It seems to be held in place by some plastic screws that are difficult to move. I don't want to force them and risk damaging them.

I've been over many different pages through numerous search engines and cannot find a link.

All help appreciated.

Cheers!

I have this problem with a chrysler neon, as far as i can see you need to unbolt the wing (suprisingly easy job) I did have an accent that had the aerial ripped off and the only way i could see to get access is to take the wing off.

If you look under the bonnet there will be several nuts holding the wing on, also you will need to open the door and remove some from inside there. Once you've taken it off it will be pretty obvious how to change the aerial.
