Bad back during pregnancy?

I'm 6 months pregnant and last week I was sitting on a chair at work and it collapsed to the floor!!! I managed to go to work for 2 more days but then it was so painful I went to doc's who said the pain was probably related to this fall. He said as I'm pregnant obviously you can't have x rays done etc so I could have doen anything and to have a week off. Well I had that and am on my 2nd week (he only gave me a weeks certificate when my self cert ran out). Its just that my boss is such a pratt and I can tell he has the ump about me being off and is flapping about the paperwork he has to do!! Problem is my back still really hurts, and I can't imagine it being better in a week - is it ok to ask for the doctor to sign me off for longer? I feel weird as I have never asked to be signed off work and I just feel like they might all think I'm milking it. Should I ask for a longer certificate as if I have to ring up every week I dread it!!

    Hi,

Dont feel bad about asking for more time off. If you feel you need the time off then you need the time off!!!!!!! Especially with the fact you cant have an x ray and not really sure what you have done.

Take all the time you need....you have more than you to look after now remember....

Talk to your GP who will reassure you and do what is best and if your not happy with what your GP says, see a different one.

    Good luck

TO BEGIN WITH, THAT'S REALLY AN OUCH AND YOU MUST BE REALLY SCRAED WHEN YOU HIT THE FLOOR.LUCKILY, THE BABY IS OK AND YOU CAN REALLY ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO GIVE YOU A LONGER VACATION,SAY ANOTHER WEEK OR SO TO MEND THAT ACHING BACK AS IT IS REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE TO HAVE AN ACHING BACK AND OF COURSE, WATCHING ALSO YOUR BULGING STOMACH IN FRONT. GOODLUCK AND HAVE A SAFE PREGNANCY.
