  • Advice re annoying neighbour?

My neighbour has a 7 yr old son. I have a 6 yr old daughter. Everytime I come home from work he opens the door asking to come round. If I leave the house at all, as soon as I open the door he opens his wanting to come with me, or come round. This is EVERYTIME. She sits by the door and allows him to keep harassing me. I've had him round weekly as I feel pressurised to do so, but my daughters not really bothered. I just say no other times but it's so stressful, sometimes I try and sneak out but he still years! I've heard her saying yes they're back and pop there he is again! My d is rarely asked round there, she is happy for this to carry on as she knows in the end hep he gets to cone round sometimes and as she does nothing with him this is a free treat she can use to keep him quiet. She's even said to him you can go round Friday as my d doesn't need to get up for school Saturday, inviting him over herself then I feel I can't say no to him. Don't want to fall out with her but this is all very weird behaviour and odd it baffles me how someone thinks it's ok to continually badger the neighbours!

  • Can I do something about a noisy pub?

This pub is dead opposite me and is open until 2.30 Fri and Sat and 12.30 other days. they have bands, Karaoke, and everyone sits and out the front and no one uses the back garden. I'm talking 20 people more or less. Last year the council did nothing to help me. A licencing officer came out in then end and set up a meeting with the landlord. He agreed to sort it out but wanted us to go to him in future rather than the council. Ok we agreed and have spent a year being open and speaking to hi about the noise and he has basically done what he likes.

Now the noise is so bad I am keeping a video diary and have 4 or 5 times caught fights at midnight, yelling shouting, majorly loud music, etc etc and it is def unacceptable. Its v good evidence. However where can I now go with this evidence? the council are rubbish, the police don't want to know. Also there are only a few houses and we are the only ones complaining everyone else is too worried about having to declare if they sell and have double glazing, live further away. Does this matter if we have the evidence? Shall I pursue legal action with a solicitor myself? It is honestly very very bad. We have even had threats yelled at us from drunken yobs as the landlord has told them its us complaining. Please help someone it is making us so miserable and my little girl keeps getting woken up.

  • As a landlord do I have to replace blinds?

We left all blinds on the windows as they would not fit in our new house. They were all in very good condition The tenant has been there for 2.5 years. He has asked us to buy him a new blind as one has broken. The house is rented unfurnished and there was no inventory done saying what was in the house. I don't feel we should replace them as we left them as good will, if I had thought we would have to replace them I would have moved them all! On the other hand, he has broken it so should he replace it? He said he asked the letting agent and they said it was a fitting and we should replace it. I am going to argue this as there is no proof anyway they were there and I feel he should buy his own blinds. Especially if he broke it.

She gets bored really easy and will only stay occupied with something for 5 minutes at a time then I have to try sonething new. She hates the bouncer and won't sit in it anymore. She hates laying on her front and screams her head off. She wont spend 5 mins in front of the telly befoe shes bored. I try playing with toys and read to her etc and as I say it amuses her for 5 mins then shes moaning again!! I feel like I can't keep her happy. What am I doing wrong? Also started to give her some baby rice before bed but she hates the spoon and screams!! I tried to give it to her mid way thru her bottle but makes no difference so I end up putting it in her milk but she wont get used to a spoon like this!!! • Behaviour of my dog after spinal operation - what is happening?

He's a 2 year old basset and has wobblers and was operated on on Monday. He is walking ok and healing ok, but he is behaving really oddly like a different dog. He goes outside and stares into space, I caught him standing in the bushes at the back of my garden just still and not moving, he is eating leaves, he follows me round as though he's attached to me. In his bed he keeps throwing the cushions about for ages, licks his lips all day, shivers, sits in the middle of the room just staring, runs outside in the garden and then sits there staring in the middle of the garden. I guess some of it is pain, but its like he has lost the plot! It can't be the anaesthetic now and the pain relief he is on is not strong enough to do that. He is acting like another dog. I look at him and he looks through me like he's on another planet. Its v sad, I hope it stops soon, Anyone heard of this type of thing before?

  • Bad back during pregnancy?

I'm 6 months pregnant and last week I was sitting on a chair at work and it collapsed to the floor!!! I managed to go to work for 2 more days but then it was so painful I went to doc's who said the pain was probably related to this fall. He said as I'm pregnant obviously you can't have x rays done etc so I could have doen anything and to have a week off. Well I had that and am on my 2nd week (he only gave me a weeks certificate when my self cert ran out). Its just that my boss is such a pratt and I can tell he has the ump about me being off and is flapping about the paperwork he has to do!! Problem is my back still really hurts, and I can't imagine it being better in a week - is it ok to ask for the doctor to sign me off for longer? I feel weird as I have never asked to be signed off work and I just feel like they might all think I'm milking it. Should I ask for a longer certificate as if I have to ring up every week I dread it!!

  • How much sun do you get in a north facing garden?

I'm thinking of buying a house with a N facing garden, I know it gets less sun, but how much less? The garden is actually to the side of the house so off the thin side of the house if that makes sense (I just thought the wideness of the house wonlt overshadow it)and its not overlooked by any other houses. It veers slightly off a bit to one side but is not that long about 36 x 45 Can anyone give me an idea?

  • What do you think about my neighbour?

He lives next door with his wife and doesn't work, they're expecting a baby in April. He is always onthe ponse from us. be it coming round and drinking all our drink and never inviting us round there, to driving my car without my permission and no insurance when I was on holiday when they had a key to my house to feed the cat. Now she is pregnant, he has asked us if we will be on call to take them to the hospital whenever she is ill. I tried to say no, saying we both work 6 days a week and are knackered and donlt want to be woken up in the night and told him he should call an ambulance, but he kept on making excused till I ended up being pushed into giving him what he wanted, He is a bully basically and not a nice peron (I know he has offences for cruelty to kids and animals) I'm not scared of him and neither is my husband and have now had enough. Am gonna tell him we won't be on call for them and thats that - thye have family/friends they can ask but donlt have the cheek to!

  • My mother in law is a BI*CH!?

My Mother in Law is horrible. She has done loads of stuff from not buying xmas and b'day pressies for her sons to not going to his wedding to snubbing me on my birthday and borrowing money and never paying it back and bascially bit*hing all the time about everyone. She is married and they are well off but are tight and selfish. They never visit and never offer to help with doing anything in their kids houses even though he is a DIY man he charges his sons £50 a day!!!For our wedding pressie she got a piccie of my dog which my dad took (not her!) and photocopied it on A4 paper and framed it in a plastic clip frame. That is what shes like and its not all about money she does it deliberately., She is so hateful and I've always been nice to her. Well enough is enough - this xmas for her pressie I have got a piccie from our wedding with everyone in it who went including my parents and framed it in a cheap frame from the local pound shop what do you all think? It makes me feel better.

  • Make up question for the girlies?

Hi, this might sound silly but I've often wondered - I get in a dilemma about whether to wear foundation. I need it as my skins not great and in the winter I wear it with blusher. In the summer you can't really wear it as its too pale so I put bronzer on but then you get tanned everywhere apart from your face and if you go swimming you look like a weirdo. Fake tan doesn't cover bad skin so thats no good and bronzer over founation can look really too much. What do others do???

  • Why do my dogs keep peeing on the carpet?

I have two bassets. One is nearly three and a b*tch and the other is 7 months and a dog. I had the girl from a pup and she became very well toilet trained. I have a dog flap so she always lets herself out. Then I got the boy who I had since 5 months old so they've been together about 2 - 3 months. He wasn't toilet trained and peed everywhere, but then he started using the dog flap. But when I get in from work I find old drying pee stains everywhere and have been assuming its him. Then yesterday the girl peed on the carpet right in front of me! I couldn't believe it, there'spee everywhere and I never ctach who's doing it but now am thinking its her. Why is she suddenly doing this? Is it to cover his scent or is it as she's seen him do it she thinks its ok. Its doing my head in, my house stinks and I keep constantly cleaning the carpets with a hired carpet cleaner. She knows to go out, so toilet training her is useless, so why does she do it? Please can anyone help????
