How can I recover a damaged Flash file?

Flash MX.

20MB file created on a Apple PowerBook G4. MacOS 10.4.11

The power cord was accidentally pulled out and the laptop crashed.

When restarted, the flash file does not open. There is an error message stating that it "Failed to open the file". No error code generated.

I've had a google but nothing is jumping out regarding this kind of fault or how to fix it.

Any help is greatly appreciated as this is examination material. If you know of an application that can help, please leave a link.

many thanks.

Update:

Just to add, the file can be copied between Apples and usb pen drives. It still reports as a Flash document and displays a Flash icon. It just won't open.

try to copy the file to another area of your computer and then try to open it from there,

    this sometimes works...
