old skool mobile phones?

Question

Hi before mobiles had the internet cameras etc when the phones were more reliable & when all you could do was just text & make phone calls what was your best mobile you owned & why & would you own another 1 ?

my best phone i had was a nokia 8210 it was small compact & it never ever let me down it was such a reliable phone (if anyone has a working 8210 for sale can you email me please as i would love another 1) i dont particulary want to buy 1 off ebay thanks ... sly

I got my first mobile in about 1998 it was a black NEC which only had a black and grey LCD screen and no features apart from calls and texts.
It cost £70  including a years line rental and connection which was a really good deal at the time.
After the year was up I changed to pretty much the same phone feature wise but much smaller and slimmer with a polished metal front.

It was the first vaguely trendy phone I had and just worked really well.

After that I had the first Nokia with changeable  front and back covers.

I now have a Blackberry pearl and though it's obviously stratospherically more complex I just wish it was as well designed.

If I have a number highlighted the green call button should call it at all times !

So my silver NEC phone in 1999 was by far my fav.

Well, I've still got a basic Nokia which doesn't do anything apart from 

send texts and make phone calls

its the basic Nokia 1100 and it suits me just fine........Lol

i had a nokia as my first phone. i don't remember the number of the model, but i really liked it. it didn't even have color. lol. but all i could do was text, make phone calls, and play that sweet snake game! i loved it. ha :).

I had the same one-I got it free when I signed up with Voicestream-Now T-mobile.
