Well.Living by the mountains isn't bad if you don't mind the wild life and don't have to worry about the ocean flooding. But If you like the ocean and not the wild life, the ocean is just as good

Well I've lived up in the mountains for 7 years now. As much as I love the fresh air(no humidity) and just the overall atmosphere of it, I would give ANYTHING to live by the ocean again:)

  • I've managed to find places that have both. I live in Maine and I have lived in Northern California in the past. I need both to be truly happy with my location BUT if I had to pick one over the other it would be the ocean. BUT then again if there were good lakes and streams .... I could be persuaded to go to the mountains.... even though I would really miss the smell of the salty air.

Mountains are lovely to look at but I miss all the sensations and peacefulness of being near the open ocean.

I use to live a lot closer to the water than I do now, and decidedly warmer beaches, and I seriously miss it.
