Is my graphics card messing up?

I have a 7600gt that I've been happy with for the last couple years.  Until recently all the games I run give me messed up graphics.  Get strange polygon tears and strange textures.  I can still play the games but sometimes it makes it hard to see down a hallway or area because a huge blank triangle is blocking the way.  Also I get a loud humming sound that progressivly get louder and then stops.  This come out through either using speakers or headphones.  Almost sounds like hair clippers if you can understand me.  I am buying a new system in the next few weeks, but I wanted to hand this down to my kids for the games.  I have all the current drivers and never had this problem before.  Even reinstalled windows.  Any advice?  Oh and all the fans including the GFX card are all working fine.

When you start getting artifacts and polygonal color blocks, the card is going south,,, 

I had a similar experience with a 7900GT that worked great for a few years, but then started doing exactly the same thing in games, eventually displayed bad pixels, even in the BIOS screens.  It's possible a capacitor has gone or perhaps the card's temperature went too high in the past, damaging it.  

Check and see if the card's heatsink/fan is still firmly mounted to the GPU, or if that's loosened up slightly over time.  The hair clippers sound makes me think something inside the case is brushing up against the GFX card fan....

I even have not considered a BIOS that does no longer have a thank you to go with the integrated or exterior video card. sure, i've got self assurance this could be a video card conflict. each and every time the equipment starts off you roll the cube to work out which solutions first and gets get right of entry to to the severe RAM the place the video is mapped.

i guess you got 2 problems there the 1 one might cuzed the 2th 
VGA is not working alright and there is nothing you can do but to replace it but first make sure you take out the cuz of its malfunctioning
Power supply Unit might be faulty 
calculate the power that your system use and the peak power of PSU make sure to have 100W more power on PSU and if its low on 350 400W then check if it actually get rid of 60Hz noise or not if you can open it do it and see if the capacitors are ok and not exploded
if the problem was PSU and capacitors were Dead then buy a PSU and a VGA

That's artifacting. There are a few possibilities:
1) You have OC'ed the card too far, reduce the clocks
2) Your card is dieing, no more can be done
3)Make sure it isn't overheating, clean the fan/cooler

Have you been cleaning with compressed air once in a while??
 If that does not help those cards are a lot cheaper today from sites like Tiger Direct & Newegg.

well, my suggestion is that its the card (haha) so i recommend buying a newer card (especially since now newer games are coming out)
