Would you categorize Obama worship as a cult?

I just got out of a bank and noticed a woman had a picture of Obama placed in the middle of her dashboard. It dawned on me the possibility that the level of Obama worship might be reaching that of a cult, since I don't know of any Republican who did something like that with Bush or Democrat who did that with Clinton. Mind you I'm not talking about a religious cult but a political one. Any ideas?

Update:

Bruno--the most famous man on Earth is Jesus Christ, and as a result many have his pic on their dashboards. I am not one of them but I am a close follower of his and so I can understand. However, your elevating Obama to a status above Jesus Christ is an even stronger indicator that, yes, it is a cult.

Update 2:

Bruno--bad, Bruno, bad. You see, I'm a history teacher. I've taught about Muslims before. First, Muslims consider Jesus to be one of the greatest prophets, the second in line after Muhammad, and they believe that He will come again when God's plan is fulfilled. Any observant Muslim would put Jesus above Obama. Second, they wouldn't put an image of him in their cars because making the image of a prophet is an insult and a blasphemy.

However, I do agree with you on one thing. As you are feeling now, facts do hurt.

Update 3:

Oh, and Bruno, I don't think there are too many natives of India and China that are dreaming much about Obama right now. You have too much faith in your man-god in the White House for this.

Update 4:

Jonny--what am I to say when you can't even spell worshipper correctly?

Update 5:

Chupate esa--yes, I am a part of the cult! Obamaaa (chanting), Obamaaa, Obamaaaaaa...

Update 6:

king kha--when we white guys look at Sarah Palin, we're not thinking of her bright ideas, OK? If you think we look at Sarah Palin the same way you look at Obama, well, I suggest you get a rainbow flag and a signed picture of a shirtless Obama for your bedroom.

Yes. Some people were calling Obama a messiah before he was elected! He's only been in office for three months and hasn't got his team in place.

We should all pray for him, but not to him.

Oh my gosh, no way. She had a picture of history on her dashboard??? She has to be a worshiper of Obama. That is obviously a cult! I feel sorry that she is trapped in a cult and obama is the god. O my gosh.

    You are an idiot.

Don't white guys worship Sarah Palin? Oh, by the way, the other day I saw a Latina woman dressed head to toe like Palin!

People like leaders who are trying to help them. They DON'T like leaders like Bush who step on them, ignore them or use them and their money to fight their wars for oil.

Obama is fixing the nation. If you can't understand why he would be willing to help those that aren't rich, why don't you head over to Iran. You'll fit right into the dictator's cabinet.

  • The funniest one I saw the other day read "Rednecks For Obama". The dummy had one on either side of his bumper. My dumbass boss has a signed photo of Bush on the wall behind his desk too.

What? That woman had a picture of the most famous man on earth? A picture of the President of the United States?

She has to be in a cult!!! (haha) Logic is not your friend

Source(s): OOOPS ... you made a mistake ... as the surveys show, the most famous person in the world today is Obama, way ahead of Jesus ... Reason for that ... well, first of all, you have 1.7 billion people on earth that are muslim ... and there are a lot of not-christian indians and a lot of non-christian chinese ... Ye, I know, facts hurt

By definition all religions are cults, even the mainstream ones. So yes the new messiah is here, except in 1339 days or so we will have change we can believe in.
