external laptop battery?
i have a acer aspire 3003LC on the battery it says rating 14.8V with a thick line and a dotted line just below it, the battery has had its day and was thinking about buying something like http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Universal-External-Netbook-P...
would this be compitable for voltage etc, since my laptop is listed as being compitable.

Should be compatable, but its quite expensive and heavy.
check out the price of an internal replacement as well, some are well cheap these days.
You could also get a car adapter and run it from any 12V battery.
I thought about one of these myself, but got a 12V inverter instead and just plug my normal power supply into this in the car when my battery is getting low.
