I for one am happy with Obama, I cannot imagine another in office right now that could handle all the mess left from the former administration. A Republican would have been absolutely a disaster as they would have done nothing, just sat back and watched things fail. That would have left us in a depression that would have lasted a decade or more. We are lucky to have a guty like Obama. Jsu imagine if McCain won and then dies in office and we now had Sarah "brain dead" Palin! We would be in real trouble then! So thank God we have a bright young man like we do!

There are so many American because there is a crosscover between the politics section and Americans fail at reading the bit that says "This questions was originally asked on Yahoo Answers United Kingdom"

I think we want a party worth voting for. Every party has significant flaws and that's not going to change

Any of the minor parties will do, the longer El Gordo delays it the more people will realise that none of the old gang deserve their vote.

Little tip for the future, it's best to put (UK) in your question somewhere. Quite a lot of yanks have their "Show" setting on "All English questions" and they presume you're American.

Hi there, It also depends on where you are in britain. I am in Scotland and we are pretty lucky to be honest here. I believe the welsh assembly are having it better for them to, N.I. I believe are still having a hard time due to many factors. And Britain as a whole under Labour.

What to do is get a list of your local candidates from your council offices. Phone each one and ask for a copy of their manifesto. This will detail all the points they are trying to accomplish, regulations, rules etc they want to bring in and the changes they want done.

If you have all in front of you it will be easier for you to compare and make a decision on what you believe is right.

Get rid of them all. I will not be voting in the European elections or a general when one is called. .

Both. New labour needs to go but I don't know who else is actually competent enough to run a country.

Well, both the Democrats and Republicans have stuck it to us for several years. It is time to vote Independent or 3rd party.

there wasn't anyone to vote FOR in 2008. It was the lesser of 2 evils. I voted AGAINST Barry.

Last time I voted FOR a candidate was Reagan.

    Source(s): Barry is a DWEEB!

Although the U.S. has a two-party system, more folks are becoming more and more isolated, as the parties change. I would like to see a shift towards the center in either party. I suggest this, because third-party candidates tend not to have luck in our government.
