Perhaps. It's a sure bet the Founding Fathers never tapped anyone's phone.

They relied on spies and steaming open envelopes...

I think it is going over the top a little bit, I wouldn't want my private phone calls to be tapped by other people. It all sounds like something from a film. The News of the World should try and get their juicy stories in a respectable way. It's really hard to think highly of that newspaper if this is what they are up to.

Nevertheless, I would keep reading if any major stories were to break as a result...

Been going on since phones were invented. Nothing new, but the census takers putting GPS coordinates of everyones' home into a database is freaky. Maybe it's why they want ACORN involved.
