A question about my sons leg - normal?
Our son is 11 months old. He was born in winter and when he was born we noticed a purplish mark on his leg that would come and go and asked about it - the ped said it was circulatory. Now that we are back full swing into winter the mark has appeared again. It is sometimes the same shape and sometimes not. When he is warm like straight out of bed it is not usually there. It comes and goes. It looks like your skin does when you are cold - blotchy. It is mostly on one leg but we have seen a similar thing on the other leg but not for ages. Is this normal? Doctors and nurses do not seem to be alarmed but I am a Mummy so worry WAAAAY to much.

I think its a circulatory problem like the ped did. I have that problem and my nail beds turn blue and black and my legs sometimes get purple splotches on them. Since he cannot walk well yet move his legs around for him and massage them. That should get the blood flowing well.

I would be worried about it, because like you said.... as a mom we worry!
I think doctors tend to blow things off too easily a lot of times. Now a days you kind of have to be your own doctor and be informed and educate yourself about a lot and still, even then its hard to ease your mind with things especially like that (because it COULD be nothing, but then again it could be something..).
I would go for a second or even third opinion. Thats just me tho.
Good luck and i hope you find out for sure what it is and the doctor does a little more than just peek at it next time.

My daughter became into born with a purplely pink mark on her brow. Its been spoke of as a stork chew and an angel kiss by using distinctive human beings and medical doctors. i'm no longer worried. It comes and is going. Now it as a rule in basic terms shows up whilst she's offended. My 12 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous nephew became into born with an identical element and his in basic terms is there whilst he's upset.
