Upside down sensation... any ideas, please?

Sometimes when I am sitting quietly at work or at home, I have an overwhelming sensation that I am being slowly turned upside down. Visually I am aware that I am sitting upright, but the sensation in my head is that my head is tipping forward and down and my feet are tipping back and up with the pivot through my waist, left to right.

I don't do narcotics in any shape or form and this happens infrequently but it's still quite disconcerting. Maybe twice a month or so and for 2-3 minutes at a time.

Any medical suggestions are most welcome. Thanks!

I had a similar problem except it was a vertigo sensation and my doctor told me it's extremely common, mine came from having liquid in my ears due to nasty sinus infection.

Usually dizziness or discombobulation isn't an indication of anything serious, most people feel a little dizzy when they stand up or sit down. If it becomes bothersome and wont doesn't go away I would talk to your doctor.

your organs of balance are in your ears so get them checked out by a doc or practice nurse.
