The American people can't stand having a black president?
Do you think the majority of Americans have problems with a non-white president?

Looking at the American record of electing Presidents I think they should give Obama the opportunity to prove himself before condemning him on the pathetic basis of his colour. Is this the twenty first century or what!
Looking at the international damage caused by George Bush, turning America into the laughing stock of the World (an accolade now held by Gordon Brown) and making the American people look like a load of gullible red necks, Obama should come as a welcome herald of change.

Obviously since the we supported Barack Obama with about 53% of the vote the majority of us are not appalled at having a dark skinned president. Most people in the United States probably have some slight problem with having a black leader. But we also have a slight problem with choosing someone who's ideology is slightly different than our own or someone who is not from our own state. When George W. Bush was elected he had to deal with our negative biases toward Texas.
I do think that there was a very large section of the United States that voted for Barack Obama even though they had a strong bias against blacks. After all when you are choosing a president the criteria is not the same as when you are choosing a close friend. A leader needs to be smart, honest, wise, and have good priorities or ideology. As most Americans know his skin color really isn't relevant in deciding this.
Conversely, I also met some Republicans who liked the idea of casting a vote for the first black president of the United States but decided to vote for the candidate that better represented their values. I think ultimately it was only about five to fifteen percent of non-blacks who are prejudiced enough that his race decided their vote.

I presume the majority will have voted for him? He doesnt get anything like the abuse from the liberals like Bush did. They made fun of his name, how he spoke. On channel 4 news someone made the point all the demonstations about Iraq had ended although the US are still there, and they have gone into Afghanistan.Obama uses the same team as Bush did.It is always the same.however liberal they used to be,once in office and see the great danger from terrorists they act the same. I think it will depend on how he acts.I was distressed when he won,but I quite like him now,but I am not an American

What about having a big government socialist as president? I guess thats not supposed to bother anyone. In case you didn't notice some 40+ million people didn't vote for him in the first place.

Well there a certain parts of America that will hate anything and yes even a black president. Whats more important though is what the person stands for. You shouldn't see them as black or white... are nicey nice as it sounds. But rather what they stand for and what they are saying within realistic stanards that you see might happen. The whole consept of voting is retarded though. You get to vote for someone to run your country. But you dunno their full track record or what they have been doing minimally for the past 20 years? Now i know what we all do to telemarketers that call outta the blue... What about these guys... You've known them for the same amount of time... But all we do is BUY what they say. Their job is to lie to you there job is to midigate the publics know abouts regarding catarospic events. They're JOB IS TO LIE!

I don't have a problem with him being black. I have a problem with him being a **** ***. Why don't you let him come over to your country and run it for ya. Frankly, he just doesn't know what he is doing. He should have stayed in Chicago and shovelled snow... Can you tell me why a person is racist if they don't agree with him? Come up with another lame excuse for him ok?? We are all entitled to an opinion....not just the liberals.

The thing you aceholes can't understand is color has nothing to do with it. Did you see the date of the election? The 60s are long gone. The guy isn't qualified or eligible. What's wrong with Allan Keyes? Nobody questioned his eligibility?

No they do not but many disagree with what he is trying to do with his health care plan. Plus the spending bill that he and congress passed without any member of congress reading.

Maybe but I personally have a problem with him because he hasn't changed anything and will in fact only make things worse.
These will be dark, dark times for America. I hope you Yanks are prepared.
