Will iphone prices go down for christmas?

I'm looking to buy an iphone 3g and am wondering if the price will drop in time for christmas?

Now that O2 no longer has its exclusive contract with Apple, I thought that maybe iphones would start dropping in price depending on what network you get them on..

Also, when do you think the iphone 3g will be taken off the market?

I don't want a 3gs because 100 quid extra for cut and paste, video etc seems stupid - but i dont want a 3g if theyre going to be phased out and 'old' too quickly.

    Hi Helen,

I doubt they will come down on the high street...

although you might be able to find some good deals online e.g. ebay or if your desperate maybe even a second hand one in an ad's paper?...

Personally I got my relative to buy me one in america and ended up paying about £150 for a iPhone 3GS 32gb...

    Hope this Helps =/

I have had an iphone 3g sense last year in early december. You don't need the 3gs, you can update the old 3g on itunes and get cut copy and paste. You also can picture message. It is all in the new update. Not the 3gs. The iphone 3g is only $99. I no longer have my 3g. I got it cut off. It is way too overrated. Sure it is pretty. But when it gets scratched and you have a bunch of apps you never use, it gets boring. I got a helio ocean a few months ago. They are great! I am just going to get the new ipod touch.

I really don't see the prices going down. If anything going up, maybe making iPhones with greater capacity. I've had the 3G and I currently have the 3GS. Really, there is no match. The 3GS is definitely worth the extra $100. Here, look at this YouTube Video for a comparison. Forward to 1:13

Also, in my opinion it's better to Jailbreak your device than not. Jailbreaking your device will increase your iPhone experience. Here's a video on how to do so.

The pricing will probably not change at all.

The 3G is still a great phone, and Apple has advertised cut, copy, and paste as a 3GS exclusive feature...it's not! Its just iPhone 3.0 software. The only advantage of the 3GS is speed, video, and voice control. The 3G still has cut copy and paste, spotlight search, mms, landscape keyboards, etc.

You'll probably only see them dropping in price once Vodafone picks up iPhone availability in January. At the moment it's only O2 and Orange; that's not enough competition to knock the prices down.

Whilst I'm here, anyone got any idea why my iPod app won't play songs in order? Have a look at my questions for details... my Q and A's are open if you want a nosey.

do no longer guess on it. Apple became recently lambasted via customers who offered the telephone upon its preliminary launch, and easily 3(?) months later it became decreased via approx $200, turning out to be a huge furor. i do no longer think of Apple desires to possibility that style of undesirable press every time quickly.

i don't think the prices will go any lower until the 4g comes out.
