Twitter: Is it just me or...?

Question

...do you switch off whenever somebody tells you about their tweets and how great they are?

Do you find them a little bit smug, usually with no other justification than they are in this secret squirrel club and find out trivia 10seconds ahead of anybody else?

My roommate and I just kinda shake our heads and sigh when we hear Twitter mentioned.  Never did get the appeal of the whole thing.  I make it a point not to associate with anyone who considers it a fun social activity.
