How to I reconnect my mac to the internet?

I've had my mac connected to the internet before but a few days ago the connection broke down. I've tried turning both the wireless router and the Mac on and off, I've done a network diagnostics check, I've tried moving the router around the house, I've checked its the right wireless name and the password is correct, I've entered the IP address into the URL bar and looked at the D-Link control but couldn't log on to it, I contacted D-Link to find the password but it had been changed, I rang Apple Support spoke to them for an hour and they couldn't solve the problem and there is a Macbook, Windows Laptop and iPhone connected fine to the internet but I can't get my iMac on it. PLEASE HELP-IT'S MAKING ME GO MAD

Have you entered the router password correctly into the iMac, and I mean, selected the right encryption on the iMac as well? (i.e. WEP/WPA/ etc). In your system prefs under Network, have you set TCIP/IP to 'using DCHP', so your router can allocate IP addresses (because otherwise, if you've messed around with the default, it won't).
