Which graphics card is better a nvida geforce 8200 or a verto geforce 6800 GT?

the geforce 6800gt is the better of the two cards as it supports a 256bit memory interface were as the geforce 8200 is firstly a onboard graphics solution and only supports a mediocre 64bit memory interface

the only downside of the geforce 6800gt is its direct x 9 compliance and pixel and shader model 3.0 support which wont support any of the additional graphical features in the latest games,however all the latest games can be run under direct x 9 without any problems

so as long as your motherboard supports a pci-express x16 slot then i would use the geforce 6800gt .ok it may not be the latest in hardware but the 256bit memory interface is far superior to the onboard geforce 8200

the 32gb/sec memory bandwidth is a decent amount and the 350mhz core clock may be on the slow side however you should be able to overclock this to 450mhz without a problem

the 500mhz memory clock( 1000mhz ddr effective ) can also be overclocked,however i wouldnt push it past 625mhz(1250mhz ddr effective ) ...but this does depend if you use the stock cooler ( the cooler that comes with the card ) or if you add a 3rd party cooler ...

that said theres no way you can overclock your current geforce 8200... onboard graphics dont overclock well.... and if you push them too far you also put your motherboard at risk....

go with the geforce 6800gt... overclock a bit with nvidia "n-tune"( http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_2.00.23.html ) and your in business !

the 8200 is an integrated graphics card,first check if its compatible with your motherboard then install it but remember even though its better than the 8200 its not that good anyway
