2 month old with heart murmur?

Question

No matter how much I try to keep calm,I cannot stop worrying about my Baby Girl!!.At her 8 week assessment the doctor heard a slight heart murmur.He checked her out a week later and could still hear it and has now referred her to the hospital for an ultrasound on her little heart.
I have looked it all up on the net etc and read it is quite normal and that most of the time it is an 'innocent' murmur and nothing to worry about,.but I just can't help it!.
Has anyone else been through this worry and all was fine?..Your experience pleeaaase!.

Yes my daughter had the same problem.. She is now 6months old and her doctor can no longer hear it.. I worried sick about it the first time they told us.. but her doctor assured me that i shouldn't worry about it because it's really common.. but i did anyways like any mother would..


--He told me if he htought it was something serious he would've sent her straight over to the hospital.

The dr found my sons murmur at his 2 week checkup and I like you couldn't stop worrying. I went to the cardiologist appt expecting them to tell me it would heal itself or there was nothing wrong but he did the ultrasound and he told me my baby had aortic valve stenosis I wasn't prepared for that at all I would suggest you make a list of questions before you go and just be prepared for anything. I hope for you and your baby it isn't serious. Good luck

i have a heart murmur - the only problems ive ever had is i get a bit out of breath before others - only noticeable at school, and i need antibiotics before i have any dental work done
