Should I bother answering questions?

Question

I don't mind answering genuine questions but then somebody copy and pastes their homework to yahoo! answers I object. Normally I answer that they would learn more if they do what they can then discuss the problem with their tutor. However, I almost aways get 10 points docked when I do this. So I ask. If yahoo is encouraging cheating should I bother any more?

Don't answer if you feel your time is being wasted. If you answer with 'google it',your answer will be deleted because it's against the rules. There are a lot of questions i don't like but i just ignore them................

Ive learned the minus 10 points hard way, you cant comment on a question, you must answer it. Then tuck a little comment within your answer.
For example :  This probably would be best discussed with your tutor, but you can find your answer by reading about Battle of Waterloo on wikipedia.. and give them the link.
 
In the Education category> Homework Help.  Help is the keyword.  If someone truly is seeking help or trying to understand ..then I will post something. These people that copy paste questions 8-15 on one question. Then 16-25 on another.. I merely dont answer.   Its homework help not doing their homework..

I agree Mark, I NEVER give complete answers to homework questions, if possible I do sometimes give them some hints to lead them toward the answer. I usually tell them that if I am going to answer the question for them, I want the email addy of their teacher so that I can submit the answer and get credit for it, if I am going to do the work.
