When did you stop getting surprises for christmas?

I feel for you.

I used to love the excitement of getting up on Christmas morning to see and open all the gifts. But it's been maybe 5 years. And as you said, I do get an odd surprise gift. My parents say they don't know what to get me, so they don't get anything, unless I say what I want, they'll buy it or just give me money.

But it's more of a kids day, with Santa and stuff. And to go with the religion thing.. It's not about the presents! Lol

I always get surprise gifts. That's the best part. Anticipating what is under the tree on Christmas eve, and then opening them on Christmas (or later).

Unfortunately, this year, I wrapped most of the presents, so I didn't get many surprises, which made my overall Christmas lower than it normally would be.

About 3 years ago when I was about 12. My family doesn't really care that much about Xmas anymore and we just stopped having the spirit for it. And even tough we do occasionally get each other something and we opened them, it's just not the same excitement or joy of when I was little.

I still get surprises from family, although sometimes I do specifically ask for something if I really want it ;)

But.. I don't seem to get surprises off my fella, lol, 2 years straight now he's 'accidentally' given it away about what he's got me lol.. :)

Many grown families do not exchange gifts. Especially if they have everything a person can possible have. Many will meet for the day and have a nice luncheon or dinner.

I always get and give surprises to my husband and my 3 sons

It seems that only if there are small children do you get surprises.

Not yet i love recieving and giving surprises :D

I am 25 and still I get it. :)
