Dell Sound Problem Solved But What Was The Cause?

Recently I lost sound from my Dell Laptop, I resolved the problem by using "Slim Drivers" a tool that finds missing drivers. Sound is now back!

I have not deleted any sound drivers, so my question is what happened to cause the loss of sound.

I can not think that drivers just pack up.

For the record I had not muted sound.

Anyone have any idea what caused the sound to stop?

Thanks!

Step a million ... run a domicile windows replace > custom set up - see if domicile windows can autodetect and reinstall your sound card. Step 2 ... stick to the link under to Dell's driving force help internet site, receive and reinstall your sound card driving force.

Probably was an automated Windows update that included sound drivers.

Yep, you inadvertently deleted the sound drivers, hence the reason why they were missing and you had to go looking for them.
