is 12 weeks same as 3 months ?

Question

if a voucher is valid for 3 months from start date is it valid for 12 weeks or 3 calender months ? 
ie valid 3 months from 07/10/2010 = 07/01/2011 is this right ?

I would mean 3 calendar months when saying 3 months. If I wanted to say 12 weeks then that is what I would say - 12 weeks!

They are the same. 12 weeks is at the ending of your first trimester, which is the highest chance of having a miscarriage. You are always at risk for a miscarriage even if you are out of the 3-month range, though it does lesson.

I;m confused. How can July 2010-July 2011 be 3months or twelve weeks? Sounds more like 12 months to me.

Valid for three months from 07/10/2010 would usually mean three months from 07/10/2010 to 06/01/2011 (but I'm afraid either way it is now out of date!).
