What do you think of the term "prime minstrel" for the incumbent of Number Ten?

The BBC made an error on its website earlier today, which has since been corrected. Referring to Tony Blair, it read: 'The former prime minstrel told the inquiry: "I believe if I started to articulate this, in a sense saying 'I cannot be sure', the effect of that on the Americans, the coalition and most importantly on Saddam would have been dramatic." '

There is a certain poignancy in the term, when one thinks of the Minstrel Boy going to the war and of Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Should the BBC have left it as it was?

While amusing, it's still inaccurate and by journalistic guidelines, they are obligated to correct blatant errors.

"Minstrel" is about right, because that is about all you can say about this man.
