Which Do You Think The Scariest?

The thought of Sarah Palin as President of the USA or the fact that there are, apparently, many otherwise seemingly sane Americans who think that this would be a good idea?

Recent presidential nomination surveys would appear to show that she is leading in West Virginia, Texas, Maine and Wisconsin unlike, it would seem, Alaska where only 33 percent of Alaska voters have a favourable opinion of her.

Her public image, though, was probably not greatly helped by recent the footage of her standing, amid blood stained snow, over the steaming carcass of a dead moose that she had gunned down in her reality TV show 'Sarah Palin's Alaska'

What a gal!

Update:

@Tempo119

I'm sure many of us share the sentiments that you so elegantly express.

@ Kaipo "PRIMO"

Yes, well Hollywood has a lot to answer for, not least for bringing us Tom Cruise in Valkyrie - now there's two hours of my life I'll never get back .

@ joseph b

Where do I start?

1) It was not my intention to 'spin' anyone for hunting down animals, I merely speculated that this may not have helped her public image and I certainly would not put her down for enjoying killing things. Indeed my Great Uncle Algernon held regular hunting parties (although I never indulged in the sport myself), he would shoot at anything that moved and he was really a jolly decent sort. Regarding my consumption of beef and poultry, you have no idea what I eat and I reserve the right not to tell you.

2) I happen to be very environmentally aware and have, so far, managed to avoid weekend trips in a Winnebago to any campsite let alone rough ones and as you were wondering, no, I have never seen a moose in the wil

Update 2:

d and yes, I have seen something bigger than a squirrel or raccoon in my back yard, this was when a neighbour's Great Dane managed to slip its collar and found its way onto our patio.

3) Where you used to live sounds perfectly beastly and I can understand why hunting was so popular but I would imagine that were the animals that had been killed able to express an opinion, they would probably have preferred not to have been protected or preserved in quite that way.

@ Adam D

1) See 1) above

2) I happened to come across discussion on the polls here: http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/11/so...

but I have also seen mention of them in some of the national press, while I am unable to confirm the veracity of these reports, with regard to your suspcion that I 'picked random states' I hope this goes some way to fulfill your request to prove you wrong.

You then go on to make some good points and I must sayit's heartening and comes as a great relief I'm sure t

Update 3:

o many of us, if your assessment of her chances is correct, that this blood thirsty 'nutcase' is never going to get her trigger finger on the big red button. :)

@ HeckZane

Yes but strictly speaking, I suppose without the latter the former would not exist.

@ Big John

We live in hope Big John, we live in hope!

Update 4:

@HeckZane

I was referring of course to the two parts of my question and the first part of your answer (i.e. Both)

First, why would the footage from her show make her look bad? She was hunting within a regulated season. She killed the animal humanely, with a clean shot. She and her family will use all of the meat. There is nothing wrong with hunting. The DNR uses hunting as a means of controlling and monitoring animal populations, to prevent overpopulation which leads to illness and starvation. A well managed population means healthier animals, delicious meat for those who hunt them, and less car accidents where human and animal populations are forced to interact.

Please reference the recent nominations surveys you have mentioned. I think you picked random states that you believe are conservative strongholds, with no supporting date. Prove me wrong.

Since we're dealing purely with opinions so far on this question, I'll provide one as a mostly conservative voter. Sarah Palin is not qualified to serve in higher elected offices (Senate, President, etc.). She lacks the education and experience needed to effectively serve this country. She also is not electable. Even the tea party movement should realize this by now. She is a loose cannon, prone to saying whatever pops into her head when asked her opinion - she's a female, conservative, Joe Bidden.

She was an attempt to combat the youth-oriented campaign last election. Nobody realized when they selected her that she was a nutcase, and would do more damage than good to the Republican party.

She is more relevant in her own mind and the far right media than with mainstream America, conservative or liberal. Generally speaking, however, quiet politicians don't sell news.

I love how you you can spin somebody who hunted down animals and uses the meat to feed her family as a bad thing. That animal had a much more humane death than the ones who produced the pounds of beef and poultry that you eat.

I bet she knows more about how to protect the environment than you do. It's ironic that there are people out there who feel that they are experts in the outdoors because they read a book, or took a Winnebago to some "rough" campsite for a weekend trip. I gotta wonder, have you ever seen a moose in the wild? Ever seen anything, bigger than a squirrel or a raccoon in your back yard?

I used to live in an area where bears, moose, deer and other game animals would wander around in my yard, hunting was very popular. The hunters were experts on the wilderness and the animals, they knew how to protect and preserve both. Death is a natural thing. But, unlike in all of the movies where the animal looks like it just went to sleep, it is bloody and steamy and smells.

The latter! to think that Sarah Palin is a good idea is only when the subject is restricted in the Hollywood scene.

Don't worry, Sarah Palin will never be elected President of the USA

Both. She seems like someone who is too sheltered to realize the consequences of her actions. She lives in Alaska for f*ck's sake and she's babbling about "standing up to Russia"... does she f*cking realize her b*tch *** can start of f*cking global war because she wants to prove she's someone who can take action? She is the poster-child of American foreign politics. Be ignorant as f*ck and have the f*cking audacity to tell others how to live their lives. Anyone who has a f*cking reality show shouldn't be taken seriously. She falls into the same category as Snooki to me, yet what's disterbing is...I'd rather Snooki be president of the United States.

    Source(s): Common f*cking sense.

    Both.

Palin does not have the intelligence to carry that much responsibility.

That she is being touted as a likely candidate suggests she is nothing more than an ignorant puppet for extremist Republicans.
