www.whatismyip.net reports the ip address of your internet router, not the local IP address of your computer.

The suggestions for using ipconfig are good

An alternative is to use Start - All programs - Accessories - System tools - System Information

and then look at Components - Network - Adapter

System information is a really useful resource for find out detailed information about your computer

Do this on the laptop and Wallah.. Thats Your Laptop IP.

To Do as Josh Mentioned.. Goto start menu, hit Run, Then type Cmd, Then hit Enter, type.. Ipconfig and hit enter.

To find the IP address currently allocated to your computer, open your command prompt and type "ipconfig" (quotes not part of command).
