Samsung Galaxy S deactivated?

The Samsung Galaxy S i bought has previously been claimed as lost, (the problem has been resolved with the previous owner) but the phone wont work with a SIM card. I think it's been deactivated, does anyone know a way to reactivate it again so i can use it as a phone?

    hey purchase new sim card.

    Otherwise you have to contact the service provider.

    You have to provide document of your friends then only they will activate sim.

    and yes your friend signature.

    If your friend is helping you then just transfer to your name too.

    all the procedure will be explained by service provider for transferring the name.
