Remove taste of lubricant grease from coffee machine?

I recently had my LaPavoni Europicola machine serviced. It needed all it's seals replaced and the technician also greased several of the metal pieces in the milk-frothing mechanism. Problem is, now everything that comes out of the machine (water, coffee, milk) smells and tastes like lubricating grease! The machine was serviced by a reputable specialist, so they presumably used food-grade grease (which I thought was supposed to be odourless and tasteless). I've rinsed the machine through with several full cisterns of water, but the nasty taste and smell remains. Any suggestions?

Yes! Call your service people back and offer them free coffee. That might convince them they did something wrong.

I would say to use a light soap mixture using a dish soap such as dawn. Then go through and rinse it with water again. The dish soap should help to break up the excess grease but should not have any health risk if you don't rinse it all out (might taste a little soapy with the next cup you make). As for the food grade grease, it does have a taste to it but you are right in that it is not harmful.

Run hot water with a little soap through the machine. It will all go away.

Put in white vinegar and run it through couple of times., then rinse with water.

Generally hot water disintegrates fat => removing it from wherever. If its possible to clean it with very hot water it should help.
