Parents...Would you report this?

Our local Children's centre where they have parenting groups,Breastfeeding classes,Parent & Toddler coffee mornings etc etc have recently put a new flyer up all around our village promoting their activities. However,They have a picture of a local man with his baby daughter at one of the meetings...Just a promotional thing.

BUT,I happen to know and can refer the children's centre to the relative authorities who can 'confirm' that just a few months ago this man was arrested and charged with shaking his baby girl (because she kept crying because she was teething!) and in recent weeks has had his 4 children taken out of his and his partner's custody through Enviromental health and social services deeming their home in complete lack of hygeine and subsequently severe neglect of their children!...Yet he is on this promotional flyer for a family/children's centre????

Should I inform them as many parents will be offended and put off by this,or should I simply live and let live?,What would YOU do as a parent?

Update:

*The photo is AFTER the arrest was made and the children were taken from them

Update 2:

*I live a few doors away and have witnessed his arrest AND social services removing his children,So YES i know it all to be factual.

Update 3:

''catzathome''

He was arrested for shaking his baby,,,Then the social workers began visiting,,Then when they saw the state of the house,,the children were removed ?????

How do you know this man shook his baby and had his children removed? What are your sources?

Unless you know for a fact that this is the truth and not vicious rumour (ie, you work in law enforcement and have an involvement in the case etc) then you are just adding fuel to the fire when it comes to these kinds of stories.

I work in law enforcement, and the rumours that are circulated because of nasty, gossip mothers is unbelievable - it just takes one person to call someone else a paedophile or rapest or child abuser for those lies to spread like wild fire.

Unless you know it to be fact, then I would say mind your own business (if you know it, then why wouldn't the child centre already know it?)

If you do know it to be fact, and for some odd reason the child centre is oblivious to his actions, then by all means express your concerns.

EDIT: just as I suspected - Neighbourhood Speculation. Believe me, neighbours dont know what really goes on, so please dont spread vicious rumours in your community.

I would certainly let the Children's centre know that you feel this way about the photograph. I wouldn't go spreading this around, after all if this photo was used unknowingly why should you jeopardise the Children's centre's reputation. If you personally go round and start saying things this is nothing short of gossip whether it is true or not. The photograph doesn't change what they do, this man chose to do these things so why should they suffer because of his actions. It is strange that he was photographed with his child after she was shaken and removed though, I would be sure that you have your dates and stories straight.

i would make a suggestion to the centre that some parents may be offended seeing this horrible person on the flyers, but as its just advertising purposes i dont think they would have looked into it deaply at who the person actually was, if it bothers you definately say something i cant say id be thrilled seeing a photo of someone who would do that to their baby not a nice memory to have going around locally for those involved.

I would let them know, as a concerned parent.

The photo was probably taken before the arrest, and now using it will convey the wrong message.

I would be put off, if I knew the man's circumstances and his picture on a flyer promoting parenting activities.

I don't think you could force them to remove the posters. I do however believe that if you explain the situation to them then they would be more than happy to remove them.

Yes I would be offended and yes I would do something about it.
