Is this what freedom of expression has come to mean nowadays?

Since the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools any more because the word 'God' is mentioned.... a kid in Arizona wrote the following

NEW School prayer, for which an A+ was awarded:

"New Pledge of Allegiance"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
Update:
Meredyth W: No Christian could ever take exception to Jewish prayer. How do you suppose Jesus prayed? Why, from the Psalms, of course! As we do still! And the Lord's Prayer is a Jewish prayer.
    How proud we have become. We're forgetting the story of the tower of Babel. The minority atheist population in America seems to have a strong influence in legislation since believers are afraid of being labeled "unfair," even when their rights are being trampled. You don't need to please everyone. You belong to a religious group because you're supposed to support that group.
    The thing is many (not all) Christians like to force God down our throat. As He does not exist this annoys us - and I don't personally have an issue with people praying but some may. And I don't think a Christian would sit by and do nothing if I started telling people God didn't exist - as I'm sure later on people are going to do to this. And you can have right and wrong without a God - it's called being a good person. And athiests are not evil - just don't want to believe in a comfort-blanket fairy tale.
    I know, the persecution of Christians in this country is just awful!
    Sarcasm aside, the Pledge of Alligence was altered in the 1950's to include "under God".
    No one said you cannot pray, only that there is no organized prayer.
    The Lord's Prayer is totally inappropriate in public school. How would you feel about a Muslim call to prayer several times during the school day?
    Sometimes it just slays me that a Christian will claim their rights are violated because they want to do what they would find outrageous if done by a differing belief.
    I find it quite improbable that you would abide organized Muslim prayer in your child's school, maybe the reciting of Jewish prayer? How about "under Allah" added to our Pledge? Everyone has a right to believe what they will. Along with your freedom OF religion comes my right FROM it. Keep your organized prayer at home and in your Church.
    The "pledge" is allowed in schools. So is prayer, just not school-led prayers.
    So your entire premise is completely false.
    Here's what I don't get: your magic jesus is quoted in your bible as telling you NOT to pray out loud in public, because that's what hypocrites do -- you should pray alone, in secret. Yet you christians make such a big deal about demanding to pray aloud in public, despite it being unconstitutional. Do you realize how hypocritical this makes you? Even your supposed magic jesus says so.
    Peace.
    Religion has expressed itself to dire consequences. This is damage control. Funny how the cute little poem ended. I wonder if all those people killed for not believing in the Christian god over the past 2000 years would sympathize? Poor little Christian is afraid of being shot, but is fully supportive of a plagiarised clay tablet commanding him to stone all liars. Mindless, America. Mindless!
    Freedom in the Constitution is limited by infringement on the rights of others. This is decided in the judicial system.
