Taking turtle to the vet tomorrow?

Hi!

So I'm taking my little guy to the vet tomorrow as he has a bit of a swollen eye. I'm just wondering what is the best way to get him there? What should I put him in?

Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions!

I always have an extra 10 gallon tank for transport that is basically a mini replica of his big cage which is what I normally bring. Then again, I live in Louisiana and hurricanes are always in the back of my head...and if I leave, my turtle's coming with me so I need to be prepared. =) However, he should be fine in a tupperware container big enough that he can't climb out. Maybe wet a paper towel if he's going to be in it for a long time. But a few hours out of water isn't going to hurt him. I'm not sure how big he is, but even things like a small garbage can (that's clean, of course) would be ok. It's all temporary, and turtles are hardy little guys.

    Good luck!

I would suggest tupperware with a damp cloth. if the vet is close.

and so long as when you say turtle you mean red eared slider...

edit : btw I would recommend reading the link if your more than 15 minuets from the vet oh and make sure there are air holes in the Tupperware and that the cloth is nice and soft might want to try and reduce the light as well that tends to calm also make sure the turtle stays fairly warm tho it should be OK at quite cold temps as they have turtles such as red slider living in the wild in the UK and it gets cold here.

i could take them even though plainly like the only is who desires the attention. a minimum of initially. If the checklist determines what's incorrect he could say issues like, the place are they saved, is it sparkling, are they close to different animals that would have bitten or scratched inflicting this an infection. He could say it is not contagious. He could say it is something inner inflicting it. Hugs to yer Turtle, wish it is not something severe. Dallas
