Why do Google Chrome and Explorer not fully function correctly?

A couple of websites can not be accessed in Internet Explorer, but can be in Chrome. Yet some emails will not print in Chrome, but will in Explorer! Any suggestions?

Many websites and browsers work to different software standards (which themselves are probably ill-defined in some cases)

For once i will answer this question correctly, as the above poster, or perhaps below in the future, has no idea what he is talking about, and offends me.

Html is a tricky language, as it comes in both transitional, non transitional, versions. There is also the current html4 standard which is switching to html5.

Some older browsers (e.g windows ie) were not designed for html5 so do not correctly display elements. Others are designed with html5 in mind, so do not correctly display transitional html4 elements.

More things are to be taken into consideration as well as this, such as xhtml standards, weather the pages are correctly optimised, weather there are errors in the codes and finally what build of chrome you are currently using.

Best bet to avoid any problems is to use 3 different browsers, mozilla firefox, opera and google chrome are a good 3 to use, but a lot of people use internet explorer simply because it is pre-installed and familiar. I would advise against it as IE is set to run active x controls and is incredibly insecure.
