How did I become Top Contributor?

Ok I'm very grateful and happy that I became Top Contributor this Monday Morning,

but I thought you had to answer loads of questions then they had to be minimum 10% best answer,

you see with me I don't answer polls, surveys or anything that doesn't have normally "one answer to it" if you know what I mean, like if someone asked "where's mount Everest" then there's only one answer to it.

But I was wondering is it rare for someone like me to have "Top Contributor" status whilst only answering 93 questions, and 83% were voted best answer?

Mainly because I see many Top Contributors with 22-40% best answer on their profile.

So I was also wondering how do I keep the status? Do I have to answer a certain amount of questions within a 30 day period?

Thank you.

Somehow you had the right combinations. It's really no big deal. Yahoo has a secret complicated formula involving percentages and best answers to arrive at how someone receives the designation. There are lots of rumours as to what that percentage is but in fact, only YA knows for sure and they aren't telling. One day you log in and surprise you are a TC.Just like today for you. You can be a TC in up to 3 categories at a time. There is no TC badge for the Jokes & Riddles or Polls & Surveys categories.

The best way to earn it is to concentrate on answering in up to three categories where you might have some knowledge. if you don't keep your percentage up you can lose the designation. There are no special privileges. In reality having the designation can sometimes be a problem since there are trolls out there who constantly look for violations or perceived violations by TCs to report their posts.

Its getting a certain % of best answers.

You can lose it from week to week, if you don't maintain that percentage. and staying in certain categories.
