Do you give your own children a goody bag?

When it is your child's birthday and they are having a party, do you give them a goody bag too so they do not feel left out? If so, do you put exactly the same in it as you would for his or her guests, considering your own child would not know what is in the other goody bags? Or would you tell your child this is a gift from them to their friends as a special thank you for coming to their party and that is why they do not get one?

We have the opposite trouble! My 5 year old started crying at her last birthday party because she felt sorry for all of the other children who didn't have lots of lovely presents like she did! In the end we had to take some of her old toys to a charity shop, and even then she wasn't happy! I think we may have pushed a little hard on the 'Be charitable' button with her!

However, my 8 year old always demands he gets more than everybody else. He usually helps us put the bags together anyway, and he crams twice as much into his, I'm certain!

Our 3 year old doesn't really understand. At her last birthday she was too busy eating everybody else's ice cream to notice.

If you have left overs from the rest of the goddie bags or other treats then no, if there would be no leftovers make sure you have somthing else yummy for them. :)
