Is it a violation to for links to download illegal content?

I'm curious whether or not it's ok to ask for example: "where can I download the movie Date Night for free"?

I'd like to know if these are questions that should be removed or not?

    Yes, it IS a violation to ask for links to do something that is illegal. If you were to find a free download of a movie, chances are it would be of poor quality anyway. Pay for it or rent it.

    As long as it is obvious, you can not ask for or provide illegal links, even if those links may be legal in another country (say Romania - a popular source). If illegal in most, on YA, it is illegal in all. This includes links to sporting events and pay per views such as WWE and MMA.

    Yes it is. If a link is illegal it is still part of your question or answer, which means you are responsible for putting it there.

    No, providing the links is not a violation within itself as you don't have to act on them. To click on them and download copyrighted material is illegal though.
