Natural History Museum or British Museum?

Hey guys!

I've only got time to visit one of these museums - which one do you recommend?

Thanks for your opinion!

    Well they are totally different.

One is all about animals birds and insects and one is about ancient world history mainly.

Egyptian mummies is probably the most popular gallery in the British Museum and is very interesting

Dinosaurs, blue whale and lots more at the Natural History Museum

Both great in their own way.

    Depends what you're into.

The British Museum is more for you if you are into history. Their collection of British roman stuff is amazing as is their Egyptian section - including the actual Rosetta Stone. It is huge and you can easily spend a whole day there. There are activities for children if you get an activity backpack from the library.

The Natural History museum is for you if you like dinosaurs, insects, animals and rocks. The dinosaur exhibition is brilliant with loads for kids to interact with. The insect room is also pretty good.

Also worth a mention is the Science museum. It is literally next door to the natural History museum so no reason why you can't visit both and as they are all free, won't cost you any more.

The Launch Pad area at the Science museum is great for kids aged 6-12 and there are loads of hands on activities. The museum also boasts the original Stevenson's rocket engine and a great space exhibition.

You can go in the British Museum: The museum is enormous and fantastic. However, if you were dragged through museums as a child, you know what it can be like if you are not imaginative.

I much preferred the Natural History museum as a kid. Also, if you have time the Science museum is nearby.
