Dell Driver Download Problem?

I have a Dell Studio 15 running Windows 7 and I use "SlimDrivers" to update my drivers.

Unfortunately there are 34 other downloads on the Dell driver site which have not been picked up by this programme. I have tried to download them but I am being blocked by "windows has detected that this is a dangerous download and it has been blocked."

I am considering uninstalling Microsoft Security Essentials in order to get the outstanding drivers onto my machine. Once installed I would reinstall MSE.

Only one of the drivers is urgent, the others are recommended.

Does anyone see any problem in what I am proposing to do?

Update:

I think it is not a problem with MSE but it is Windows Firewall that is to blame. I will temporary delete in order to resolve the problem.

    I see no problem with your idea. Sometimes antivirus programs are more trouble than what they're worth. Especially Norton. I would also suggest you get Avira free anti virus, install it see if it gives the same message as MS security essentials. Worth a try, to prove a point.
