Cortisone injections, deep sedation and bladder problems?
I had deep sedation today for cortisone injections into the depths of my hip and shoulder. Took me a while to come out of it, but blood sugar levels had shot through the roof and they would not let me out - managed to get it down to 5.6 with aggressive insulin therapy, but now having a lot of time in the bathroom weeing, despite sugars being okay now. Is there a connection between the deep sedation or cortisone and an overactive bladder - going every 10 minutes?

It is most likely the cortisone that spiked your blood sugars. It's one of the side effects, most especially in diabetics. But it's a one-time thing during injection and generally the numbers level out over a couple of hours. And symptoms of high blood sugar include polyuria ... which is having to urinate frequently, and that can hang on for a few more hours. If you received IV fluid, you are probably getting rid of that too.
