In French. How to say 'not a bundle of fun'?

I am scared of heights, but I took a rock climbing course. I would like to say, it was 'not a bundle of fun' in French.

Update:

Oh Johnnie Johnnie....what are we going to do with you.

    Hello,

"It was not a bundle of joy."

literally translate as "Ce n'était pas un paquet de joie."

The correct day-to-day equivalent french colloquial saying is however:

"Ce n'était pas une partie de plaisir."

which literally translate as "That was not a pleasure game" or "That was not a pleasure part."

    Happy New Year,

    Dragon.Jade :-)
