I named my son after a famous footballer....what would you call your first born and why?

Don't mix his first child into this, her name is between your husband and his ex. Start on a clear slate, this is between you two. If Jonathan is a family tradition then I'd give in, but give your son his own middle name that he'd go by the majority of the time (know many that goes by their middle name). Given the fact that you say you also like the name, I'd ask you if that part is really worth fighting for. I, like you, would not like to call my child junior. If you're not done having children, you can always give in to his Jonathan with the catch that you have final say (with his input of cause and veto rights) on the naming of your next child. I like your name Zachary. If you use Jonathan Zachary, your son will also have the choice to go by J.Z. or Jace. Good luck duking this out.

I would go with Emile, as I always wonder with the mighty Ivanhoe how someone built like a brick outhouse and allegedly had a tough father can be such a lightweight/confident player and still managed to have made a decent career as a footballer.

And if I had a first born it would be an f'ing miracle as well

Boy - Benjamin or Shawn.

Girl - I leave that to the wife.

Reason for Benajmin - I like the name and cause well with the surname.
