Evisitor Visa for Australia question?

3 years ago when visiting Australia with online Visa's we were taken aside re-issued with V's having been informed our electronic V's were not acceptable. Are they acceptable now days and safe to apply for online because;

**I am visiting family in Au again March- April (29 days) & Travel Agent has emailed the

Australian High Commission site to apply for a Visa on line. I have European Union Irish passport & Ireland citizen is cited in the box on the page as acceptable for application. I believe there is no charge for this Visa or am I mistaken - reading info wrongly? because;

***The two travel agent shops in our Village say they will issue a Visa attached to my passport for a cost of £25.

If I do apply on line - How soon should I do prior to travel. Do I have to give details of Travel Insurance and money in bank account etc.

    Don't pay anything to travel agents. As Irish citizen you can apply for an e-visitors visa online which is free of charge. You can do it whenever to wish; once granted it is valid to travel to Australia within the next year. You just need to provide your passport details, your address details, and you have to make certain statements like "I do have the required funds to visit Australia without working"..
