how do you keep the excitment in a relationship?

And this is why:

The excitement is caused by the brain releasing certain chemicals, in response to seeing, thinking about, or touching the object of your attraction.

This creates the excitement, it actually is a "high".

But the brain, like all other body systems, seeks to restore itself to normal (a process called "homestatis"). And after a while, it will succeed and will restore itself to normal and that particular person will no longer excite you like they used to. This may happen in only a few days, or in a few years.

However, it is possible, over the course of your lifetime, to have occasional periodic moments of excitement for this person, if the relationship is close.

What normal people do is ... when the infatuation fades out, they build affection, trust, and psychological and physical intimacy, and this feeds and warms their soul and keeps the relationship vital. You substitute fireworks for the comfort of a warm hearth.

If you are addicted to keeping the excitement alive, what you end up with is a string of short-term relationships, and you end up in old age all by yourself.

It cannot be sex as sex happens when the relationship IS exciting and dies when it isn't.

Oral apparently is known to spread infections (what doesn't these days) and possibly cause throat cancer.

I have no idea about exciting relations,because mine isn't - certainly lack of sex doesn't keep it exciting and too much sleep kills it. I would say one needs to remain INTERESTED in each other,though even that is a challenge. Humour helps too.

you really have to make sure that the love is there. with out it, whats the incentive? if the love is there, there should be excitement because you're happy that person is in your life and you want to share life with them, and all the fun experiences it comes with. with love, it should happen automatically regardless of money. if you love that person enough, it will all come together naturally.
