Too much Elijah? Whatever does it refer to?

The phrase "Too much Elijah" is used in some communities to indicate when a person has drunk too much alcohol. I'm just curious as to which bit of the bible it refers to -

Elijah the prophet. You had to be drunk to understand him or accept what he said.

Go here http://www.biblegateway.com/keyword/ and punch in the word "Elijah" and you'll find all kinds of neat stories about him.

But, I'm not really sure that the people you're talking about are referring to the Elijah of the Bible.

Can you ask them, without any trouble?
