What Is NetWaiting Progran on my laptop?

I have a program on my Dell Laptop, running Widows 7, called NetWaiting published by BVRP Software Inc.

I have no idea what this program does. Is there a problem if I deleted it.

I am not on a network by the way.

Any help would be appreciated

Update:

The icon in the start menu is a yellow telephone!

    Back in " ye olde days of computery"

    we used a technology called a " Telephone Mo-Dem"

    Yes, we would use the POTS (plain-old telephone system) for BOTH voice calls , and for computer data.

    When one of us was using the computer, (or on a voice call) that meant the line was tied up.

    With the 'invention' of Call Waiting, one could be using the line, and get an indication that someone was trying to call in.

    On voice, it was easy - just tap the key or receiver latch.

    On a computer, no so easy.

    This program (and others like it) allowed you to use the telephone modem,

    then IF you had call waiting, and someone called - the software would let you pause your data;

    answer your call on a real phone, and if you kept that call under 60-90 seconds, you could resume your work on the computer without losing data.

    If you don't use the Mo-Dem, and don't plan to, then the software is safe to remove.

    It really doesn't take much space, but from a security mindset; " If it ain't being used, it has no business being installed."

    First of all, get a really good decompression software. Something that opens .zip .rar files, etc. As a gamer, you'll more than likely need them on several occasions. I personally can't stand the WinZip and WinRar applications. Windows has a built in .zip utility, but it is lacking in some functionality. You might consider 7zip. For rar files, I always enjoyed using the nice and simple Free RAR frog. I have yet to find something free and decent for windows that decompresses a large variety of compression types.
