How can I get google to list my website?

If you search for my website it doesn't come up on google. If you put in some keywords which ought to lead you to it, you get some other websites. If you do advanced search and enter exact phrase and quote an exact phrase from my site it says there are no results. Why is this?

    Go to google.com/webmasters then register ur website. Then, these are the main things need to be considered in order for your website to be indexed:

    1) Make the sitemap of ur website and then use the webmasters feature to submit it.

    2) Generate robot.txt and put it in ur website directory

    DOnt expect the result to be instant, it's usually takes couple of days even weeks for ur website to be fully indexed
