It is nearly dead: only a few people are still involved in spiritism sessions and there are several associations related to Allan Kardec heritage. They perform automatic writing, chanelling etc...
Common people don't know who is A. Kardec and basically, only teenagers are interested in trying spiritism with a glass or whatever tool.

I think it much more considered in Brazil but I am not sure about that.

This is the first time I read the name of Alan Kardec and the word "Karcecism"... I have absolutely no idea of what it might be (a form of protestantism? A briton independantist movement?)
